On 16 December our local Community Animal Welfare Society – CAWS 4 PAWS – hosted their annual “Groot Brak Stap” on the Great Brak River beach, the quaintest and most beautiful beach along the Garden Route.
A Caws 4 Paws spokesperson commented, “Not only is this a fun morning for dogs and owners, it supports our local Animal Welfare Society and doubles as a Beach Clean-up as well”.
Croft Animal Hospital, the local vet, and local businesses are generous in the extreme with their support of this project as well as other projects throughout the year. In addition to the ongoing Sterilisation campaign, CAWS 4 PAWS has expanded its services with Emergency Accident funding, food, running chains and kennels to animals from underprivileged homes in and around Great Brak River.
We would like to appeal to anyone who loves their furry friends to support us in our work, either as a volunteer, fundraiser or remembering our Society in their wills.”
A novel idea was used by one resident of Great Brak who raised money on her 80th birthday. On your birthday, why not ask for donations towards our welfare society in lieu of gifts?
