Fragrance Fest blossoms

This year’s Fest on the Route attracted more visitors than ever before! Some saw it grow from 3 festive spots in 2015 and attended for the fourth time; but there were also numerous newcomers and even a few visitors from overseas.

The gorgeous weather certainly helped to make this unique boutique event enjoyable for young and old. “A countryside meander” was the theme of the day and many visitors explored the whole Route (which included two picturesque detours amongst the road works and houses in historic Friemersheim). Others found the relaxed atmosphere at Hakuna Matata so enticing that they stopped there to picnic after the annual “must do” Hap & Stap to the lions.

Over 80 people visited the Great Brak Museum to learn more about Friemersheim and the Volkwyn chair. The Art Farm was launched, Brothers Coffee Roastery introduced a photo booth, at Santa Bonné a scenic trip was added and at Friemersheim it was the launch of the Shweshwe Stop work creation project.

In 2019 the 5th Fragrance Fest will take place on Saturday, 2 March. The Fragrance Route can also be visited throughout the year, by appointment: contact details on www.proemb.co.za/TheFragrance Route & Fest/Maps.
