“Fyn art Hermanus” lok plaaslike kunstenaars.

”A Thread Runs Through It – Collaborative Relationships”.

Ina and Laurinda met in 2017 through their passion for art.  Although their work is very different in medium and approach, they found common ground in humour, respect, playfulness and mutual inspiration. This laid the foundation for this collaboration.

Ina Meyer works in a collage style, primarily with fabric but also with other textures such as paper, Angelina fibres, lutradur and tyvek.  She quilts the pieces and embellishes them with embroidery and beading.

Laurinda Smit regards herself as an intuitive artist, not bound by preconceived ideas.  Only after a work has been completed does the symbolism of a creation unfold.  This revelation remains an inspiration and mystery.
