It should not be expensive to put your “best foot” forward. Here are some easy, inexpensive and earth-friendly recipes for homemade foot treatments.
Making home-made foot treatments is a wonderful thing to learn. You can be sure that you are only using the best ingredients, you can alter the recipe to suit your personal taste, and when you have practiced a bit, you can make lovely gifts for people!
FOOT SOAK
- A bowl of water
- 5 to 10 mint leaves
- 1 cup of sea salt
- 1 lemon or lime, sliced and placed in the water
Let your feet soak for about 10 minutes and relax.
PEPPERMINT FOOT SCRUB
- 1¼ cup of coarse or sea salt
- ¼ cup of jojoba oil
- 2 or 3 drops of organic peppermint or lavender oil
Mix together ingredients. They can even be warmed just a bit in the microwave oven or you can soak your feet in warm water before application. Apply the scrub to your feet, rubbing in a circular motion. Rinse off with warm water!
FOOT MASSAGE OIL
- 2 teaspoons of jojoba or extra-virgin olive oil
- 3 drops of lavender essential oil
- 1 drop chamomile essential oil
- 1 drop geranium essential oil
Mix all the ingredients in a small bowl and massage gently into your feet. Put your feet up for some time. Wash your feet with a mild soap and apply nourishing cream on your feet.
