MISS YOUTH CAFÉ!

In 2022 we gave our interns at Wonderful SA Foundation/Great Brak Youth Café the opportunity to flex their creative and administrative muscles by asking them to brainstorm, plan, organise and host an event that will be for the benefit of our vibrant community, as well as attract young people (and those more advanced in years) to the Youth Cafe. They came up with an idea to host a Miss Youth Cafe in the form of a fashion show. A new tradition was born.

Come 2023 and the interns grabbed this opportunity with all of their collective hands. They planned, they approached businesses and partners of the Youth Cafe for sponsors, they held boot camps for the models of the evening, they organised live entertainment, and much, much more. The evening (24 Feb 2023) was a resounding success. More than 200 people attended the event, held in the parking lot of the Youth Café, and not even load shedding or light rain could dampen the celebratory mood nor success of the evening.

We are so proud of our interns, and all the people of our community who helped to make this event even bigger and better than before. And most of all we are reminded of the incredible talent in our community, and are privileged to be in a position where we can provide a platform for them to showcase it. We look forward to an even better event next time around!
