SCAVA Committee established in Great Brak River – a first for the town.

The SOUTH CAPE ASSOCIATION FOR VISUAL ARTS (SCAVA) successfully established a branch in Great Brak River with a committee that was chosen out of the 26 artists that attended the meeting.

Maura St John and Karin Combrink, longstanding members of SCAVA’s main committee were elated by the turnout of artists. With the support of SCAVA, one of the focus areas of the newly elected committee will be to become more active in promoting and marketing Great Brak as a diverse art hub.  The first of a number of articles to follow can be seen in The South African Artist Magazine (Issue No 31) now on sale, promoting Great Brak and its artists.

The artists will get together once a month to plan and work towards a showcase exhibition in November in George.  For more information contact the Chairperson,  Lynda Murison at 072 291 5541.
