As a registered professional with SACAP, Leon represents the third generation in a line of architects at Roodt Architects, a firm rooted in excellence since 1952.
With a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of the Free State, Leon’s academic journey reflects his forward-thinking mindset—exploring how architecture shapes human experience in a modern world. His technical skills include advanced 3D modelling, rendering, and presentation, with hands-on experience across a range of projects – from heritage buildings and student housing to modern commercial developments.
Leon’s portfolio includes high-profile work such as the Free State Legislature Chamber, President Steyn Statue relocation, and the War Museum Children’s Labyrinth where he formed part of the team in each instance. He’s also contributed to various residential, memorial, and institutional projects, offering strong visual communication and innovative spatial solutions.
Known for his work ethic, attention to detail, and professionalism, Leon works comfortably in team settings and with clients and contractors alike. He is fluent in both Afrikaans and English and is proficient in industry-standard tools like SketchUp, InDesign, and Photoshop.
