Winter Holidays and Talent Shows
During the longer winter holidays the Wonderful team from the Youth Café made sure that entertainment and learning was fully on offer for the young ones not just in Greenhaven, but as far as George!
We started off with a joint program at the Great Brak Primary School, where fun activities, exercises and of course amazing food where on offer. In conjunction with Child Welfare and volunteers from Mossel Bay. We are always thankful for our partners and volunteers when facilitating courses and programs.
After primary school, we moved on to the Secondary School learners, which we hosted at the Youth Café itself. Again, plenty of games, sports, dancing, movies and more were all on offer, all under the umbrella of life skills and continuous learning and relationship building.
For the first time we also had some time to take our talents to George, where we spent some quality time in the Golden Valley area in Blanco with the Love Looks Like Something NPO, serving them and the community with our gifts.
And we can also brag a little bit with our studio team that submitted a spontaneous entry for the Mossel Bay’s Got Talent competition and have subsequently made it through to the semi-finals. We wish them all the best and celebrate the talent that Grootbrak has to showcase. Speaking of the studio team, during July they facilitated our quarterly Creative Arts and Media course, where a group of young people (and sometimes not so young) get the opportunity to learn how to write, compose, perform and record their very own song.
We invite you to keep an eye on our social media pages and YouTube channel to see them in action (Our page can be found at: Wonderful SA)
As always, we invite everyone for a visit to the Youth Café in Grootbrak, to see our beautiful facility, have a delectable coffee with us, or join in on our fun.
