It provides great interest and excitement to witness the current upgrading of boardwalk infrastructure on the Orion Drive Dune System, Great Brak River. This new chapter is said to cater to the needs of wheelchair users who will now be able to gain access to views of the majestic ocean whilst enjoying the surrounding coastal dune vegetation. It is with gratitude that we must acknowledge the efforts of the Mossel Bay Municipality who at great lengths consider the perspective of those with mobility constraints. Beach access is not always possible or practical for wheelchair users but that doesn’t mean that one has to be excluded from the environment nor the enjoyment it provides. These new boardwalks with viewing areas to the sea are a welcome new addition to the coastline and are greatly appreciated.
