HANDS UP COLLECTION

Never has there been a time when hands were so important – clean hands, but not touching hands. Yet open hands, caring hands, praying hands, giving hands …

In July 2020 the SAQG (South African Quilters Guild) quilt teachers who are members of the SAQG Teachers’ Forum were invited to show us their hands by participating in the SAQG Teachers’ Forum Hands Up Collection. Each teacher was asked to make a 25 cm quilted block, using their own handprint/shape or outline, in their preferred technique or style. This unique collection will be on display at Searle Memorial Church, 23-24 September 2022 from 10h00-16h00 as part of the Muse Festival.

We cannot go backward. We cannoty erase time and events. But we can go forward, hand in hand, with hope in our hearts and love lighting the way. Sharon Shin
