Vanjaar bied die Musefees musiekuitvoerings uit die boonste rakke, allerlei werkswinkels, interessante stokperdjies, kuns, beeldhouwerk, uitstappies om na voëls, geskiedkundige huise en die Hidro-kragstasie te kyk, opwindende aanbiedings vir die jeug, liplekker kos en vele meer. ONS SKOP AF!
2 September skop die Musefees af met strandkuns by Suiderkruisstrand (10h00-13h00). Laerskool Vorentoe bring hul kunswerke en die Great Brak River Conservancy sal ook daar wees. Almal welkom – dis gratis!

- Yin Xiong, international sound artist, will be playing her gongs and singing bowls and will also do some overtone singing. Get your tickets early to avoid disappointment as seats are limited. Thursday 21 September, 18h00-19h30, Ilita Lodge, Great Brak.
- Anna Davel tree twee keer op – 22 September 19h00-20h30 NG Kerk, Groot-Brak. Sy voer Daarom skryf ek hier op en voer luisteraars Sondagmiddag 16h00-17h00 mee met swing- en jazz-musiek aan die oewers van die rivier by Brinkleys, Klein-Brakrivier. “Baskets”en kontantkroeg beskikbaar.
- Die Suid-Kaap Kinderkoor beloof om weereens ’n wonderlike ervaring te wees, met Petronel Baard as gaskunstenaar. Saterdag 23 September 15h00-16h00, NG Kerksaal, Groot-Brak.
- Petronel Baard tree Saterdagaand, 19h00-21h00, saam met Henco Bester en die Outeniqua Jazz-band op wanneer hulle Golden Oldies opvoer met onder andere treffers van Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand en Elvis Presley.
TICKET SALES
Please note that the tickets for all the music performances will be sold at MMO/SEEFF at 85 Long Street, Great Brak. A ticket machine will be available to accept cards. Workshops must be booked directly with the relevant people as indicated on the program. Book early to avoid disappointment!
WORKSHOPS
We have added another day (21 September) to the festival for workshops only – please consult the program or website for specific times. Paper maché, Pewter, Flower wrist corsages, Kom leer gedigte slyp, Healing with medicinal plants, Découpage, Blomme uit lap, Indigenous plant tinctures, Skep origami-kimono’s uit lap, Botanical dyes and printing are on offer. Book directly with the relevant people to secure your place. On 22 and 23 September Cyanotype (14h00-15h00) and Raising the grain (artistic wooden cutting boards at 11h00-11h30) demonstrations will take place.
WALKS
On 22 and 23 September Heritage walks will take place in Great Brak (10h30-11h15), with a walk to the Hydro Power Station (11h30-13h00) to raise funds for the Great Brak Museum. Birding walks, presented by Christiaan Viljoen, curator of Garden Route Botanical Gardens, will take place on both days 9h00-10h30 and 15h00-16h30. Book directly with the relevant people to secure your place.
MUSE VIR MANS
Vanjaar is hierdie afdeling van die Musefees stampvol interessante stalletjies. Hoewel die fokus daarop is om mans bloot te stel aan lekker stokperdjies, is almal hier welkom!
OUR BENEFICIARIES FOR 2023
The Great Brak River Conservancy, Great Brak River Museum, Garden Route Botanical Garden and Youth Café will all form part of the Muse Festival, with all proceeds from their respective offerings for their coffers.
YOUTH CAFE
Fleur van Eeden Streicher will give children a glimpse into the world of a stunt performer (Saturday 23 September 10h30-11h30), while Fourie Ackermann will be painting a wall with the help of the kids on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 September (14h00-17h00). Miss Youth Cafe fashion show will be held on Friday 22 September at 17h00-18h00.
PARKING
Please note that there is no parking available at Westbank Manor where the SCAVA Art Meander, Sculpture Park and some of the workshops will take place. Parking is available at Searle Memorial church, in front of Bolton’s shoe factory (a short and beautiful walk away across the river) and along Long Street. Please don’t park on top of the pavements to ensure ease of walking for all festivalgoers and those in wheelchairs.
MUSE FOOD
Great Brak restaurants will offer their signature dishes entered into the Muse-lin * competition for enjoyment during the Muse festival and the High Tea at Ou Pastorie (23 September at 10h00-11h30,) promises to delight the palates as always!
